Tucked in the highlands of Uraga in Ethiopia’s celebrated Guji Zone, Yabitu Tume is grown by smallholder farmers on garden-like plots shaded by native trees. Sitting at 1,900–2,300 meters above sea level, the cool climate and fertile soils allow cherries to ripen slowly, developing remarkable sweetness and complexity.

Ripe cherries are delivered the same day to the local washing station, where they are carefully pulped, fermented for 36–48 hours, washed, and dried on raised beds. Thoughtful practices—from water treatment to repurposing coffee pulp as organic fertilizer—reflect a deep commitment to quality and sustainability, with full traceability maintained throughout.

In the cup, expect bold fruit tones, honey-like sweetness, and a clean, juicy finish. As whole beans, this coffee shines in filter brews for clarity and vibrancy, and offers a lively, aromatic espresso for those who enjoy bright, expressive profiles.

Pro Tip

This coffee is roasted for filter; and is recommended for brewing using the V60, Chemex, Clever or other drip coffee makers.
