Swiss Water® Process dissolves some of the myths of decaffeinated coffee.
What makes the Swiss Water Decaf tastes better than most, is its Green Coffee Extract (GCE). It was designed to leave the flavour elements of coffees intact, and to only draw out caffeine. The green coffees are first cleaned and rehydrated, then immersed in the GCE solution. The difference in caffeine levels between the two compounds cause the caffeine to move naturally from the greens into the GCE via osmosis. The GCE is then passed through carbon filters specially designed to trap caffeine molecules. This process is repeated continuously until the green coffee is 99% free of caffeine.
